I didn't find my love for numbers in a classroom. I found it in a library, sitting on the floor with an accounting book I couldn't put down, finally knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my life.

What followed was a career I was proud of — cost accounting, financial planning, managing the books for companies and eventually for my own household. I gave up my formal education at the University of California, Fullerton for my now ex-husband just short of graduation. For years, I knew every number, every account, every asset. I was the one who made it all make sense.

But behind the spreadsheets, I was living a very different reality.

For years, I stayed too long in a relationship that took more than it gave —one that slowly, quietly dismantled my confidence, my identity, and my sense of self.  My money managing skills also protected me after everything fell apart.

Going through my divorce, I took every skill I had — every spreadsheet, every financial statement, every instinct — and built a case that protected my family. My own lawyer told me: "You know your story and your finances better than I ever will. You should do this for other women."

That was the moment Velvet Sovereign was born.

What I didn't expect was how much healing would be part of the journey too. I had to rewire my nervous system. I spent years doing the work: retreats, coaching, therapy, learning to regulate the anxiety that had become my baseline. That work changed everything. It showed me that financial recovery and emotional recovery aren't separate things. They happen together.

Today I work in the accounting and financial coaching space. I'm a Jay Shetty certified life coach and my passion is helping people through any form of transformation.

Women in the middle of a divorce. Women launching businesses from side hustles. Women who have been financially controlled, gaslit, or simply never taught how any of this works. Women who need help managing the finances for their investment properties. 

I bring every part of that lived experience into the work I do with you. I am consistently learning in both the financial and wellness spaces. 

I'm not here to judge your numbers or talk over your head. I'm here to sit with you, explain it in human terms, and listen. I'm here to help you feel something you may not have felt in a long time:

I am also deeply committed to understanding and integrating artificial intelligence into the work I do. Not as a buzzword — but as a real, practical tool that can change how women manage, understand, and grow their finances. I am currently training as an AI architect, learning how to build and implement AI systems from the ground up. My goal is to bring that knowledge directly into my client work — helping you not just understand your numbers, but use modern tools to run your business smarter, faster, and with more confidence than ever before.
